About the Author: A Story of Resilience, Passion and Mastery
Let's pause for a moment. Before I reveal some hints or ways to look at SEO and digital marketing, I want to tell you a story. It's not just any story, but one that demonstrates what it means to carve your own path in life. It's my story.
In 2010, without knowing much about SEO or web design, I took the first step in an adventure that led me here, in front of you. Together with a friend who later became my godfather, I launched our first website: megaanunturi.ro. It was an attempt to compete with OLX, a dominant market at the time. The funding? AdSense revenue. The motivation? Survival.
I was a penniless student, trying to navigate the complexities of life in Bucharest. By day, I was a humble GSM , roaming the city from one end to the other. By night, I was a passionate autodidact, learning programming and online marketing strategies, testing and failing, and then testing again.
We built websites with games for children, we tried dropshipping, and in 2013 we launched the SEOCub agency. Every year, we gained clients and lost others, we struggled with vulnerabilities and were on the verge of giving up. But we kept going. Our resilience was rewarded in 2019, when we won a contract with the largest sushi reseller in Germany, Austria and Italy.
We don’t consider ourselves SEO or web design gurus. But what we do have is invaluable experience and a desire to improve every day. With this series of articles, we don’t want to sell you a “secret to success.” We want to share with you, from the bottom of our hearts, our painful lessons and triumphs.
